Khiladi Bhayya has decided to join the league of actors in order to work towards the development of the Chennai, Tamil Nadu after the city faced terrible losses due to floods recently. The actor who is currently gearing up for his upcoming film Airlift has donated an amount of Rs. 1 Crore to Chennai flood relief fund.
Akshay was a little confused about the process of the donation so, he asked director Priyadarshan to help him. Priyadarshan revealed that since it was a huge amount, he advised Akshay to donate it to the Bhoomika Trust, a charity fund run by actress Suhasini Ratnam, wife of filmmaker Mani Ratnam. Akshay Kumar has worked with the film maker in films like Hera Pheri.
Priyadarshan also stated that Akshay Kumar wanted to keep this news private but the filmmaker decided to reveal it so that others are inspired by it. Many South celebrities like Rana Daggubati, Rang De Basanti fame Siddharth donated funds and even helped people personally in this traumatic situation.
